Hathee Singh Jain Temple is amongst the famous Jain temples of Ahmedabad. It was built in 1805 AD by a wealthy Jain merchant known as Hathee Singh and hence the name of the temple.
The temple is dedicated to the fifteenth Jain Tirthanka called Dharmanath. The design of the temple consists of intricate and detailed carvings.
The temple is built using beautiful white-marbles and is considered an architectural wonder. It is a 2-storied construction having a dome on the front side. The other two sides carry delicately carved galleries, which makes them a sight to behold.
A number of cloisters enclose the cemented courtyard and they contain 52-holy places. The image of the Tirthankars is situated within each of these shrines. The intricate carvings of this temple are considered amongst the best in Gujarat.
