Aina Mahal is an old palace in Bhuj and a major tourist attraction. It was built by Rao Lakhpatji in 1750. RamsinhMalam was the main craftsman for the construction of the palace.
The design, decoration and layout of the palace are highly influenced from the European style of architecture. Presently, the palace has been converted into a museum.
The palace gets its name from the Hall of Mirrors, which is the central attraction of the place. The walls of the halls are made of white marble and are decorated with mirrors and luxurious ornaments.
The floor of this hall is placed with tiles and a podium above it is surrounded by a series of fountains. There is a large chandelier in the hall which is prepared from Venetian glass.
Apart from the hall of mirrors, the palace contains a Durbar Hall and a number of private suites for the royal family members.
