Aga Khan Palace was built by Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah Agakhan III in 1892. Situated in Pune in India, it was built as a source of employment for the famine struck villagers in nearby places. In 1969, grandson of Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah Aga Khan III, Prince Shah Karim al-Hussayni Aga Khan IV donated this historic building to the Government of India, in memory of Mahatma Gandhi and his great philosophy.
