122 m long and 82 m wide, Santa Giustina’s Abbey is one of largest and most important Benedictine abbeys in the world.

The Abbey overlooks the enormous square named Prato della Valle, one of the largest in Europe, and was founded in the sixth century even though the present structure is the result of a restructuring plan dated XVI century.

Inside there are the remains of several saints, first of all the evangelist Luke, but also St. Matthew and St. Prosdocimus ones, the first bishop of the city of Padua, and of course the remains of Santa Giustina, the Christian martyr killed in 304 AD, during the persecution by Emperor Maximian.
