Description

Today the aqueduct runs in the countryside between Pisa and Asciano and its status is rather precarious because it would require restoration works.

The aqueduct is a great feat of engineering built between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries to let Pisa have Asciano’s water, rich in minerals and properties.

Cosimo de 'Medici was the first who ordered the aqueduct, even if we have to thank the Duke Ferdinand for the concrete implementation of work.
