The archaeological site named “House of stone floor” was discovered and opened to public since 2002, but within few years it has become one of the most popular italian places ever. This site is under the floor of St. Eufemia Church. It’s composed of 14 rooms, often decorated by marbles and mosaics of the byzantine era. One of the most beautiful musive works is called “The Dance of Four Seasons Genius”. This mosaic represents Seasons in anthropomorphic features, dancing holding their hands in a circle. Panel’s geometric forms are remarkable, with garlands surrounding seasons.
