Palazzo Piccolomini is a 1469 built palace with a touch of Florence and looks into the southeast corner of the Campo. Designed by Bernardo Rossellino in a Florentine Renaissance, it is at present home to the Archivio di Stato. One can see the remarkable set of wooden covers which are made for the account books of the city and is called the Tavolette di Biccerna, painted in the 13th and 17th centuries having religious scenes and historical events in the history of Siena.
