The Aquarium in Genoa is one of the largest aquariums in Italy, in fact in all of Europe and attracts many tourists every year. The Aquarium building itself has very interesting architecture, shaped like a ship. You can easily keep aside a few hours to spend time at each of the exhibits. There is a variety of penguins that draw many kids to their exhibits. Its fun watching them waddles on the stone ledges, swimming in the water and then flying out to land on the stone ledges. There are myriad displays of a variety of fishes, of them the crowd pullers are the dolphin tank, the kids are just drawn to the playful dolphins like magnet. Then there are the sea otters and manatees that you can just watch swimming by. Watching the fishes swim by makes for a very calming experience. The Aquarium also has some educational exhibits meant especially for children. The location of the Aquarium is great and it offers wonderful view and there are many vendors stall where you can grab a bite to eat.
