Via Etnea, the most important shopping area of the city in Catania
Via Etnea owns its name to its linking with the sea. It goes from the city gate nearby the harbour to Etna, connecting all the towns.
To sum up, the street is divided in three areas and is several kilometres long.
The first stretch is the most beautiful in terms of walks; the second part reaches piazza Borgo.
This is the most commercial area, with loads of average labels shops like Motivi, Benetton, Sisley, Zara Home, etc. The last stretch links piazza Borgo with the tondo Gioienni.
This is the top side of the street, perceived as the most peripheral and therefore less popular.
