Bunkyo is situated in Tokyo to the north of the Imperial Palace. The name, Bunkyo, means “Capital of Culture” and is best known as home of the University of Tokyo and for a series of refined villas and parks.
This neighborhood is home to beautiful gardens like Koishikawa Korakuen, Rikugien and Koishikawa Botanical Garden of the University of Tokyo. Other than that, one can visit the temples and Shrines like Gokokuji, Denzuin and Nezu Jinja.
Other attractions here are St. Mary’s Cathedral and Bunkyo-ku Civic Center. The Tokyo Dome City is worth visiting in Bunkyo.
