Taito is a district in Tokyo, Japan. It is one of the 23 special wards of Tokyo, founded on March 15, 1947.  Ueno Station is a major hub of this place connecting it to various other lines.  There are many other places worth visiting in Taito and is a perfect destination to explore. While visiting Taito, one must visit Asakusa known for Senso-ji temple and Ueno, a place packed full of museums and Tokyo’s best-known cherry blossom viewing spot. The Shitamachi museum Annex, situated in Taito is small museum housing sake and beer equipment. SCAI the Bathhouse is a small gallery in Taito displaying the work of contemporary artist which earlier use to be the bathhouse or sento.

Those who would like to explore the historical landmarks in the region must visit Kyu-lawasaki-tie Teien which earlier was the lawasaki family house and garden built in a Meiji era.  The district also has markets and many restaurants where visitors can go shopping while enjoying traditional delicious foods.

One of the 23 special wards of Tokyo is Taito, which is also called by locals as Taito city. Founded in 1947, this neighborhood is home to the Tokyo National Museum other than many known landmarks and sights. One... more can visit the temples and shrines like Senso-ji and Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate), Kishibojin, Asakusa Shrine and Kan'ei-ji. There are parks in Taito like Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Garden and Ueno Park. Apart from this, the museums are worth visiting too, like the National Museum of Western Art, the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, the National Science Museum of Japan and the Tokyo National Museum. Taito city hosts events too, like the Sumidagawa Fireworks Festival and the Sanja Matsuri, one of the three great festivals of Tokyo.
