Overall Guide : The old town has narrow lanes that are lined with traditional Arabian wooden-balconied houses. The Biashara Street, the local market, full of tiny Indian and Arab stores is here. Visit the 15th century Mandhry Mosque and the exquisite Hindu Temples... more around the city. Fort Jesus is the largest fort in Africa. Built by the Portuguese, it has been converted into a national museum and displays the historical past of Mombasa.   The Haller’s Park is a luxuriant tropical garden which offers tortoise rides, horse riding and a snake park. The Mamba Village is known for its crocodile farm. It also has a specialty restaurant where one can enjoy marine and game meats. Several marine parks and coral gardens exist at the coast. Aquatic sporting facilities like snorkling, diving etc., are available on the beach front. The best beaches include Nyali, Kenyatta, Bamburi, and Tiwi. A dhow (traditional boat) safari is the best way to see the sights around.

Overall Guide : Mombasa is the place to be during the summers. It is the 2nd largest city in my country. I have been there since 2003 and never have i ever been bored visiting Mombasa. From the hospitable people, five star hotels... more like Tiwi in Ukunda. Severin, White Star, Severin, Serena all these and others. The night life with the best djs in town found in clubs like lambada. casorina, bella vista and so many more. The very white sand beaches where you go to see the waters and so on... Trust you me if you have never been to The Coast then you definately dont have an idea of what you are missing.
Not to be missed Nakumatt Nyali , go to fourt jesus , Wild Waters

Overall Guide : Mombasa is very nice tourist spot with almost all the locals having got used to tourists, it gives one a good sense of welcome. Night movement is as safe as day time with the ever available Tuk Tuks ready to... more take you anywhere in the night. There are good number of entertainment spots depending on the kind of crowd you want to hang with.

Overall Guide : I visit Mombasa every December with a group of about 100 Primary School pupils. I get there at a time when Christmas season is at its peak and tourist pressure is really high. At that time the time is a... more bit expensive but very enjoyable. At other times of the year when I visit the to town is very affordable and very nice. I advise that tourists avoid the Mombasa dark areas at night as there are muggers and wallet snatchers!! Always use tuku-tuku at night.
Not to be missed Public Beaches , Haller Park , Fort Jesus
