Noordwijk, a village in the province of South Holland, is situated in the western part of Netherlands. Known for its long beaches and bulb flowers, Noordwijk is one of the most visited tourist spots in Netherlands. The city with its population of around 24,000 inhabitants is an ideal vacation spot for its visitors.
The city enjoys a maritime climate, characterised by the three seasons of summer, rains and winter. Summer is characterised by relatively warm temperatures and winters are not too cold.
A former fishing village, Noordwijk was initially inhabited by the local pagans. During the ninth century, fishing began to be replaced by the fast-growing tourism sector. Today, the city serves host to more than a million tourists per year.
Tourism is the main source of economy in Noordwijk; fishing is also widely practised.

Reviews Noordwijk

Klaus Hohenfriedberg
Overall rating 9
Overall Guide : When in Noordwijk, take time for long walks at the beach. You can even walk to the neighbour city of Katwijk. Great places to stay at the Palace Hotel and the Hotel van Oranje. Local food like sea food dishes... more or the famous dutch pancakes are served in cozy restaurants along the boulevard. A nice shopping street provides all kind of stuff from fashion to jewlery etc. Plenty of bars invite for a drink or just a coffee along the street. In summer time more buzzling, in winter rather cozy and quiet. Location is great, in just 15 min you reach the city of Leiden, or if you like watersports you can drive in just 15 min also to the Haarlemer Meer. Also Amsterdam is just 30 min away...

Overall Guide : Nice family resort, with in a circle of 30 km a lot of entertainment. Nice beaches. For cyclist and wanderers very nice. In spring a blooming center of the bulb fields.
Not to be missed ESA , Keukenhof , Museas in Leiden
