Ludwika Zamenhofa, 00-999 Warszawa
This monument is in Zamenhofa street and is dedicated to the heroes dead during the Ghetto insurrection in 1943. This area is adorned with trees and, especially in summer, crowded with people who walk and relax. Therefore it is strange to think that one of the most cruel battle of human history took place there .The western side of the monument is called “the fight” and represents men, women and children holding grenades and oil bottles. The other side, called “March to destruction” shows the suffering and torture of innocent women and children.
