Budget Night in Poznan
Being the university town that it is, there’s no shortage of cheap eats and hole-in-the-wall pubs in Poznan. A student’s mecca and a cash-strapped tourist’s dream, Poznan will guarantee you a good night out without burning a hole in our pocket.
Poznan’s nightclub district is situated in the Rynek, or Town Center. For decent, laid-back drinking pubs, check out Kisielice, Dragon or Czytelnia. Kisielice has perhaps the best atmosphere in town with alternative music on the loud speakers, with local bands, film screenings and exhibitions also making their way inside. Dragon, on the other hand, is a popular watering hole that is mostly frequented by students and the younger crowd.
If you are looking to soak in a bit of culture with your beer, then Proletaryt is a must. This communist-themed bar has a sculpture of Lenin’s head outdoors with portraits of well-known communists draping the walls indoors with a great tongue-in-cheek feel. And if you’re up for having a pickle in your vodka, then you’ve found the right place.
