The Romanian Literature Museum is situated at 12 Dacia Boulevard, sector 1, Bucharest, 71116. Except Mondays, it is open everyday from 10:00 to 17:00 hrs.
The museum aims to conserve, develop, research and capitalize on the rich literary heritage of Romania. It contains old books, manuscripts, fine arts, documents and periodicals.
Photographs and audio/video material is also available. This collection easily crosses the count of 300000, covering both Romanian and foreign authors.
The museum is divided into several sections such as archive, preservation, restoration, research and finally, exhibitions. There are three types of book-exhibitions, permanent, temporary and itinerant.
Besides these, there is a fine arts exhibition. The museum is complemented by a café. It also organizes several events such as reading club, book releases and symposiums. Several branches of the museum can be found in other cities of Romania.
