Fuerteventura Beaches : From the white sand to the dark sand beaches
From the white sand to the dark sand beaches: information about From the white sand to the dark sand beaches in Fuerteventura
Fuertenventura is a volcanic Island 160 kilometres long and 40 kilometres wide. Here the beaches are of different kinds and colours
In the North, towards Coralejo, the sand is white/golden due to the Desert dunes effect and the Sahara sand carried by the daily winds.
In the North-West there is the beautiful area of El Cotillo, which is made by little bays with purely white sand and dark rocks. A marvelous contrast. In all the West area down to the South there are beautiful white beaches with extremely high cliffs rising sheer. To take breath away!
This area is very windy and the Ocean is colder, but it is the kingdom of surfers and photographers. Each little bay is like a postcard! The Eastern side is full of golden sand beaches; the Caleta de Fuste area is a little less windy, perfect for those who travel with kids.
The sea is wonderful everywhere, but in the South and South-West (jandia zone) areas it has several shades of green and turquoise that make you think about the Ocean!
The beaches are purely white and stretch for kilometers. They are draughty but the water is warm and you can go for swimming, especially during the high tide when the sea shapes natural lagoons. Try not to miss Playa Esmeralda!
It is worth visiting Fuerteventura. It is quite cheap, the people are kind and the nature is still wild!
