The Zubizuri (from the Basque, “White Bridge”) is an arched pedestrian bridge, built by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava in the municipality of Bilbao, in the years 1990-1997.
The shape of the bridge is reminiscent of other works by Calatrava, it is accessed by two ramps, one of which was extended by Arata Isozaki, the Japanese architect who designed several skyscrapers close to the bridge.
