The Cathedral of Santa Maria is a historic building and is a significant landmark in Murcia and is the only cathedral still in use in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cartagena in Spain. The cementation of this cathedral begun in the 13th century. By 1385, the laying of foundation began and in 1388, the first stone was laid. Its construction finished in 1467. The artistic style of the building is varied as it was finished in the 18th century. Its interior is Gothic with Baroque façade.
