The Catedral de Sevilla is a religious building situated in Seville in Andalusia in South side of Spain. This historic building is also considered as the largest Gothic cathedral and also the third largest church in the world.  Also known as the Cathedral de Santa Maria de la Sede, its construction got completed in the 16th century. The Cathedral of Seville is one of the largest Roman cathedrals in Spain.Construction of the cathedral began in the early 1400s to highlight Seville’s prosperity. As the cathedral was built upon the ruins of a mosque, many columns and elements from the mosque have been included. An example of this is the Giralda, originally a minaret, now converted in to a bell tower. It is Seville’s most popular symbol. Visitors will enjoy the interiors of the place with the longest nave in the country embellished with gold. Apart from that, it also has the largest altarpiece in the world with some of the finest examples of Gothic woodcarving.
