Valencia is a city of big interest for all tourists. Obviously, everybody knows the Oceanographic, but also the Serranos Towers must be visited. These two towers, built following the typical gothic style, originally represented one of the two only access points (together with the Torres de Quart) to the ancient part of the city, once surrounded by huge walls. Fortunately, after the enlargement of the residential area and the destruction of the walls, local authorities decided to maintain these nice towers highly visited by tourists. Built by architect Pere Balanguer at the end of 1300, the towers have historically hosted city’s prisons after the fire that destroyed the original ones.
