CAC Malaga - Centro de Arte Contemporaneo in Málaga
CAC Malaga - Centro de Arte Contemporaneo or the Contemporary Art Center of Malaga is a museum situated in a former Wholesale Market building and was designed by Luis Gutierrez Soto, a Spanish architect.
Inaugurated in 2003, the museum comprises 6,000 square meters of displays, of which 2,400 are totally dedicated to exhibitions. The exhibitions include works of international artists like Paul McCarthy, Louise Bourgeois, Anish Kapoor, Ron Mueck and many others.
The permanent collection includes more than 400 works, with temporary exhibitions, workshops, conferences and courses film even held now and then. There are permanent collections which include works by well-known artists like Louise Bourgeois and Damien Hirst. This museum is a cultural initiative of the Malaga city council. The aim of the museum is to promote and publicize 20th and 21st century visual artwork.
