The Plaza Moyua is also known as Plaza Eliptica, and it divides the Gran Via in half. Reopened in 1997, it was originally opened in 1940s. Due to the metro building works, it was dismantled in 1990 to be restored and reopened in 1997. The design of the place is based on the formalist style of French Gardens. In Plaza Moyua and its neighboring streets, one can opt to shop, and even see some of the aristocratic buildings along side one another which are a reflection of the great pride felt by Bilbaoans, who loved excellence. This beautiful neighborhood has other attractions like the Palacio de Chavarri.
