Hong Islands in Krabi
The Hong Islands, also known as Koh Hong is located at about twenty-five km north-west of Ao Nang. These tiny islands feature tall limestone cliffs enclosing spectacular beaches with soft sands and some trees.
There is a hidden lagoon, which can be accessed by a small opening which is just about enough to pass one longtail boat at a time. Once inside, it is easy to get a feeling of being in a pre-historic place with sea-eagles soaring above and starfishes just underneath the surface.
There are also wonderful coral deposits along the sides of beach, although not all are alive. In addition to this, there are numerous caves that contain valuable swiftlets. Water sports like sea-kayaking can be enjoyed through clear shallow water.
The Hong Islands is a part of The National Park and a fee of around two-hundred baht is charged per person.
