Bab El Bhar or Bab Bhar is one of the gates of the Medina of Tunis, to the east of the ancient wall.
Marking the separation between the European city and the Medina, this historic site is a low arch and crowned by a parapet battlements. This historic site takes its name of Porte de France, during the Protectorate, presently called by the locals.
The original gate was built during the Aghlabids reign. Today, visitors find this place attractive for its historic background.
