Central Pier in Blackpool
Blackpool Monuments and Historic Buildings: Central Pier
Whereas many visitors flock to Blackpool’s North Pier for all of the shopping and good eats, they come to the Central Pier for all of the fun. Not to be outdone by its pier rivals, the Central Pier has a character all of its own – mostly in part by its famous Legends Show, which sees tribute acts from all the top names in music including Elvis, Kylie Minogue, George Michael, and even Buddy Holly.
Blackpool’s Central Pier was built for the sole purpose of seeing its town residents enjoy themselves on a night out on the town for simple fun. In the early 1900s, dance halls were constructed along with a roller rink. Theaters, pubs and amusement arcades were added after World War II and still enjoy a good level of popularity to this day.
The pier is located between the other two, and about 500 meters south of the Blackpool Tower. For more information, call 01253 623 422.
