One of the most exemplary masterpieces of art, the City Chambers in Glasgow is also one of the most important tourists site in the city. The building has been used as Glasgow City Council headquarters since 1996. The building was completed in 1988. Designed by the famous architect William Young, the building bears a stamp of Victorian civic architecture. The most striking features include the loggia, a staircase made with Carrara and Breccia marble and a banqueting room adorned with spectacular barrel vaulting.
