The Argyll’s lodging is a manor house built by William Alexander of Menstrie who was the founder of the Scottish colony of Nova Scotia in N. America. In 1632 the manor house was acquired by the governor of Nova Scotia namely Earl of Stirling and 24 years later passed on to the Earl of Argyll. The building is now used as a youth hostel. There are on-site accommodations available at this lodge.
