Ferries to cross the river that runs through Liverpool depart from near the Albert Dock. I recommend going in the late afternoon and taking the last (return) departure, the colors reflected in the river are incredible! Don’t bother with the commentated tour for tourists, you don’t learn much, it’s very expensive and you see exactly the same as you would from an ordinary commuter ferry to the Wirral Peninsula, which only costs about £2.
