East London is graced by many enigmatic spots. They’re not always so friendly, though sometimes there is no better place to meet interesting and genuine people. Nor are they always so clean, quiet, relaxing or comfortable. But there is one thing that they are never, and that is boring. Dalston Kingsland Road dictates the local geography of the surrounding area and is itself host to a lot of the best venues around.
Cafe Otto, just across the road from Dalston Kingsland overground train station (“Kingsland”) and hidden into a small side street is the foremost venue in the city for edgy and interesting musicians from around the world. It may be experimental but there is no chance in the fact that the standard here in always high. It is starting to get expensive though and the drinks have never been cheap so perhaps a beer in the Prince Albert pub beforehand!
