Lake George, New York

Description

Lake George, New York boasts a vast lake with prismatic blue water perfect for water sports; however, if your priority when you visit Lake George isn’t to get soaking wet, soaking up the sun, there are a number of sandy beaches the lend themselves perfectly to a relaxing sun session.

Million Dollar Beach is the most popular beach at Lake George and is thus constantly bustling with life. Located past the steamboats on the way to the east side, this beach is overseen by trained lifeguards who keep the beach safe, spotless and family-friendly. Million Dollar Beach is the largest of all Lake George’s sandy areas, even boasting a volleyball court area which is popular amongst teenagers.

Just past Million Dollar Beach is the more private Usher’s Park Beach, a very quiet, secluded beach perfect for parents who want to keep a watchful eye on their children. There is one lifeguard on duty at this beach, which is hidden at the bottom of a steep hill, upon which is a playground, picnic area and basketball court for kids and families.

Another beach in the area is Shephard’s Park Beach, which is in the heart of the town. This beach area is popular because of its central location near the village restaurants and shopping centers. Located on Canada Street, the Shepard’s Park Beach facility has restrooms and a dock that extends out over the water. Wherever you choose to go, any of Lake George’s beach areas are relaxing ways to soak up some rays.
