Los Angeles - Melrose Trading Post
The Melrose Trading Post is an absolute treasure trove of rare finds, and multiple visits here never yield the same discoveries. Located at 7850 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, California, the Melrose Trading Post takes place every Sunday in the Fairfax High School parking lot. Boasting between 200 and 300 diverse vendors, the market attracts an impressive two or three thousand shoppers every weekend. All of the items sold are unique in that they are either previously owned or one-of-a-kind. Some best sellers are jewelry items, clothes, housewares, shoes and art. The items are so plentiful that you could spend hours elbow-deep in the wares before you could leave completely satisfied. In addition to the vendors, there is a food court in the upper quad as well as a jazz band to enjoy while you browse. This market is so popular that there is an admission price of $2.00, but there are frequently $1.00 coupons, and the experience is certainly worth it.
The market is held as an ongoing fundraising effort for Greenway Friends of Fairfax, as if regarded as the most successful fundraising event in the Los Angeles Unified School District. So not only when you come out to the Melrose Trading Post are you having a great time and finding great buys, but you are helping a great cause as well. Whatever you’re looking for, it makes for a great Sunday in LA.
