Albany is the capital city of the state of New York, USA. It also the county seat of Albany County. Along with the cities of Troy and Schenectady, Albany forms a region known as the ‘capital district’.
Located at the point of convergence of the Mohawk and Hudson rivers, Albany lies in the east-central region of New York State.
Owing to a humid continental climate, Albany experiences cool, snowy winters and hot, wet summers. The average annual temperature is 8.16°C, while the average annual snowfall is 1,628 mm.
With a population of about 96,000 inhabitants, Albany is one of the oldest cities in the country. Albany has highly developed financial sector, making it one of the largest banking cities in the USA. Tourism is also an important sector from an economic point of view.

The major example is the New York State Capitol sitting on one of the seven hills that fashioned the city's landscape. The Capitol with its grand staircase, fascinating chambers, and breathtaking exterior, is the main historic centerpiece of New York State. Also visit the Quackenbush House, situated next to the Visitors Center. Built in 1736, it is one of the oldest remaining Dutch buildings in the city and today serves as the Olde English Pub & Pantry. Also holds Albany Heritage Area visitors Center in the historic Quackenbush Square: Guided tours by trolley, boat, or on foot, take you through Albany's neighborhoods, attractions, and historic sites.
