Helena is the capital city of the state of Montana in the USA. Popularly referred to as the ‘City of Gold’, Helena comes under the Lewis and Clark County.
Located on the foothills of the Big Belt Mountains in west-central Montana, Helena falls between the Glacier and the Yellowstone National Parks. To the east of the city lies the Missouri River.
Having a modified continental climate, Helena is characterised by dry summers and moderately cold winters. The annual average temperature of the city is 6.67°C. The temperature generally ranges between –6°C to 20°C.
Helena has an approximate population of 25,800 inhabitants. The culture of Helena is heavily influenced by the gold rush. This is especially reflected in the rich nineteenth-century architecture of the city.
