They lived on the basins of the Loxahatchee River. Because of misunderstandings of mapmakers, the region was named ‘Jove’ instead of ‘Hobe’. In the later years, a mapmaker again misread ‘Jove’ as ‘Jobe’ in Spanish. ‘Jupiter’ is the anglicized name of ‘Jobe.’ Jupiter is famous for its serene and beautiful beaches. It is also known as a Beach Town. Jupiter is an important tourist spot in the state of Florida.
