Description

The Munroe Tavern is situated one mile to the east of Lexington Common. In 1775, this tavern served as the headquarters for Brigadier General Earl Percy and his one thousand reinforcements. This is a Revolutionary War site which played a significant role in the Battle of Lexington and Concord. It is named after William Munroe, in 1775, orderly sergeant of Captain Parker’ s minutemen company.
