The Gadsby’s Tavern Museum consists of two buildings. This was a center of political, business and social life in old Alexandria. There were also dancing assemblies, musical performances and meetings of local organizations. The museum has excellent collections like the portrait of John Gadsby’s third wife, cast iron grate, a rare survival ornament with a variety of neo-classical decorations.
