Chicago History Museum in Chicago
Located near the North Side, the Chicago History Museum is hands-down one of the most interesting and enjoyable museums in Chicago. With two floors full of interactive videos, tours, and engaging exhibits, the Chicago History Museum is perfect for families, a fun date, or as a leisurely day on your own.
The first floor starts out with the beginning of the city when it was a trading post moves onto the fire and the world fair. The second floor is more of a break down of the city and offers a comprehensive tour of how the city came to be what it is today as you wind through exhibits on Chicago crime, architecture, industry, jazz, and food. The museum also has some great Chicago memorabilia such as one of the original CTA trains.
Easily accessible by public transportation, the museum is free on Mondays and takes about three hours to get through if you visit every exhibit. The museum café is also reasonably priced and is a pleasant place to end a museum visit. Definitely recommend including this museum on any visit to Chicago!
