House of Frankenstein Wax Museum in Lake George
If you dare venture into the haunted halls of the House of Frankenstein in Lake George, New York, beware. Located at 213 Canada Street, this wax museum is home to a group of “monsters” neither dead nor alive. This spooky haunted house museum is filled with thrills and chills as you navigate through a series of spooky scenes and freaky figures. For an admission price of $9.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids, you’ll walk through a series of gory scenes depicting famous images in horror history, such as Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde, Edgar Allen Poe, the Hunchback and Freddy Kruger.
Watch that you don’t lose your way through the suspenseful mirror maze, and try to keep your balance on the shaking bridge at the end. Much of the special effects are retro and in the typical 1970s horror style, almost bordering on cheesy. While the museum might provoke a few screams and startles, it’s not overly frightening, so as long as the children aren’t too young it’s certainly a family-appropriate activity during your time in Lake George.
