The Coronado Bridge is a prestressed concrete and steel girder bridge that crosses over the San Diego Bay, separating the city of San Diego from the Coronado Island. The Coronado Bridge was built by architect Robert Mosher and became operational on 3rd August 1969. The bridge costing over $50 million is 2.12 miles long and has won the Most Beautiful Bridge Award in 1970 from the American Institute of Steel Construction. Also, the widely popular Chicano Park is located right beneath the bridge. The Coronado Bridge has also been featured in many hit television shows such as Simon & Simon, and few movies like Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy featuring Will Farrell.
