Burnham Park in Chicago
Burnham Park runs along six miles of Lake Michigan’s shoreline and is part of the Chicago Lakefront Trail, an 18-mile multi-use path, which runs through Lincoln Park, Burnham Park and Jackson Park.
Burnham Park is popular with joggers and cyclists and it also features baseball and softball fields. There’s also a free skate park. It’s nothing out of this world, but it’s free and on a sunny day, it’s a nice place to hang out.
Chicago’s premier convention center, McCormick Place-on-the-Lake is located within the park as well as Soldier Field, home to the Chicago Bears. There are also several beaches maintained by the Chicago Park District. It’s a nice spot to hang out during the summer to go for a swim or ride your bike along the Chicago Lakefront Trail. It also offers a nice view of the Chicago Skyline.
