Fort Casey State Park, Coupeville
Fort Casey State Park was actually created in 1890 as a part of a triangulation of three fortifications for defending the entrance to the Puget Sound. Within 20 years, this fort became the fourth largest military post in Washington and housed 10 officers and 428 enlisted men. This park is also used as a state park and a conference center. In 1980, the fort was incorporated into Ebey’s Landing National Historic Reserve.
