You'd better bring your "A" game when you come to Freedom Park. And maybe pack a nice lunch.
The space's 68 acres include soccer fields, baseball/softball fields, horseshoe pits, bocce ball courts and a fitness course. There are also a whopping 23 picnic spots. When it's too hot for all that running around, just take a dip in the pool.
For those who are golf-goofy but forgot their clubs, the park is a great venue for America's second-favorite way to hit the links: disc golf. The nine-hole course has a dazzling array of par-3s and totals 2,550 feet in length.
Opened in 1972, the park has undergone an $18 million facelift over the last couple of years, making it one of the Las Vegas area's premier gathering places.
