The Gould Park in Santa Barbara, California is located on Cold Springs Road and Ashley Road. It is characterized by vast expanses of vivid greenery, endless lawns and towering trees that provide plentiful shade as relief from the Southern California heat. This 368-acre park was a gift to the city of Santa Barbara from Charles W. Gould and Clara H. Gould in June 1926.
The city never invested in developing the area, so the park retained an aura of natural simplicity. As such, it has become a beautiful piece of unadulterated nature utilized by the public for leisurely walks or peaceful picnics. Gould Park is home to the trailhead for Cold Springs Trail, suitable for any hiking excursion. The park’s utter immersion in nature allows for excellent animal watching as well. In addition, the combination of Gould Park’s vibrant green tones and Santa Barbara’s comfortable Mediterranean climate make this park an excellent and unique wedding venue. Gould Park isn’t enhanced by many modern amenities, but is rather cherished for its unaltered simplicity.
