Channelside in Tampa
Channelside offers entertainment, retail, and restaurants however it seems to have gotten a bit rundown as of late and many nights the place feels like a ghost town. However the setting itself is pleasant and easy to get around with escalators and a historic trolley stop right outside.
It’s definitely a great location with an interesting mix of businesses and the two levels of open courtyard gives it a nice open feel that is conducive to ambling around while shopping or before or after grabbing a bite to eat. There is also an IMAX theatre, which is always a plus and the aquarium is nearby.
There is a Splitsville, Stumps, Hooters, and a Wet Willies and the place is hopping when there is a cruise ship in the harbor or during Spring Break. It’s a pleasant, but average place to hang out. Tourists enjoy its accessibility and laid-back feel, but not sure I would head here for a night on the town.
