Ukrainian Village is a neighborhood located on the west side of the Chicago downtown area. Home to approximately 10,000 ethnic Ukrainians, it’s a pocket of traditional Ukrainian food and cultural institutions like the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art, the Ukrainian National Museum and the Ukrainian Cultural Center.
There are a number of beautiful churches in the neighborhood all within walking distance of one another. Be sure to visit Saint Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral and Saints Volodymyr and Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Swing by Old Lviv for a great and inexpensive Ukrainian meal or Rich’s Deli for Polish specialties (857 N Western Ave). If you’re looking for something a bit nicer, make reservations at local Italian restaurant, A Tavola.
