Consider North Las Vegas the well-adjusted middle child of the Las Vegas area: It doesn't quite have all the glitz and glamor of the flashy Strip, the oldest and prettiest. And it doesn't have the sprawling celebrity mansions that Spring Valley, the overindulged baby of the family has.
Rather, North Las Vegas has a little bit of everything, and does it all with a certain understated resolve.
It has its own airport, which is a hub for regional and sightseeing traffic. It has a few casinos of its own, the best of which is the Aliante Station (7300 Aliante Pkwy). It also has an outdoorsy side, with plenty to do in Freedom Park and the forthcoming Craig Ranch Regional Park. And there is ample opportunity to squeeze in a few holes of golf.
