Description

TriBeCa (Triangle Below Canal Street) is a residential neighborhood in the trendiest of New York. It's name is now famous for the Robert De Niro Film Festival , one of the many celebrities who live here and who have contributed to the re-evaluation of the entire area. The proximity to Ground Zero has made this revival more difficult, but the neighborhood still retains it's appeal.

TriBeCa is a syllabic abbreviation of “Triangle Below Canal Street”, although it is an irregular trapezoid. It is situated to the south of Soho in Manhattan. It also hosts the Tribeca Film Festival to celebrate New York as a major... more filmmaking spot and recovery of Lower Manhattan. Earlier it was a major industrial area marked by warehouses, which are now replaced with apartment houses and other buildings. It is now amongst the most stylish residential areas in New York City. The area mostly comprises of industrial buildings of which some of the notable ones are Powell Building on Hudson Street, New York Telephone Company building , the New York Mercantile Exchange building and a the neo-Renaissance White Buildings on the Worth Street. The Washington Market Park is popular among children for its large playground. The Holland Tunnel also has its exit and entrance to the northwest corner.
