Sabana Grande in Caracas
The lively Sabana Grande, just 2 kms east of the Parque Central, is Caracas' longest and most famous boulevard. Always crowded with people for its numerous shops, boutiques and restaurants it has been a favourite haunt of artists for the past 40 years, the famous Gran Cafe being their chosen meeting place, where you can have your coffee while watching people play chess or engage in any kind of debate.
You can find any kind of shop you can imagine here: craftsmen work directly on the street and sell directly their handicrafts while many tourist wander around.
The Boulevard can be reached via three different metro stations: Chacaito (by the eastern end), Sabana Grande (right in the middle) and Metro Plaza Venezuela (on the western side).
