The city of Shepparton is located nearly 200km away from North-East of Melbourne, 185 kilometres form Albury and 4 kilometres from Mooroopna. It is the fifth biggest city of Victoria in Australia. The population of the city according to the 2005 census was 60403 in Greater Shepparton and 38773 in Shepparton-Mooroopna. It is an urban area surrounded by townships and suburbs including Dookie, Goulburn Valley, Mooroopna, Grahamvale, Murchison and Tatura.

Shepparton is a commercial centre situated between Namurkah in the Goulburn Valley Highway and Nagambie. It is the largest producer of canned foods. This city is situated in the agricultural region of Goulburn Valley, which produces nearly 25%25 of Victoria’s rural output. Shepparton is named after Sherbourne Sheppard, a squatter who held the Tallygaroopna Station. The city is a major centre of educational facilities and road transportation.

Overall Guide : A disconnected society with a lot of people who are of lower social economic stature. At the other end of the scale there are people who seem to have lots of money. These people are so into themselves that they ... Leggi tutto don't get what is really happening out there, or is that the way it is these days. I feel that the town is on a downward trend because of factory closures or down sizing due to the greed of a few. Then again its a lot like any mid western American town with not many prospects for the future as far as jobs go for the young people. Too much late night alcohol consumption, to much racism towards anyone who is a bit different and the only thing it has that make people want to come here is shopping. BORING. Shepparton has a reputation Australia wide as being not somewhere that is recomended to go. TRUE

Overall Guide : I found the lake gorgeous and the coffee shops and maude street mall nice for a leisurely walk.. There not a great deal to do here.. But the people that you could meet are very interesting..
